BinThe Borough of Conshohocken Department of Public Services delivers community services through two divisions: Public Works and Facilities. The Public Works Division is responsible for sanitation, streets and fleet maintenance, and the Facilities Division is responsible for parks, buildings, and grounds maintenance.

Public Works

The Public Works Division delivers trash collection, recycling, streets and storm water maintenance, and fleet maintenance services. The Borough sanitation service consists of collection of trash, recycling, and includes yard waste, bulk metal and electronics’ collection. Trash is collected twice weekly; Monday’s and Thursday’s on the east side with Tuesday’s and Friday’s on the west side. Regular household trash is picked-up as part of the residents taxes.

When your trash and recycle collection day falls on a holiday, your trash and recyclables will be collected on your next scheduled collection day. If the holiday is on a Monday, then your recyclables only will be picked-up on Tuesday. When a Holiday falls on a Saturday or a Sunday it is observed on the following Monday. 

You can now have a recycling bin delivered to your home! Conshohocken Public Works will replace old, damaged or missing recycling bins with new ones every Wednesday as needed or requested. To request a new recycling bin, click here, and complete the form. Forms can be faxed to Conshohocken Public Works at (610) 941-9902 or call the Borough Administrative Office at (610) 828-1092.

NOTE: No businesses, apartment complexes, or residential buildings with more than eight units are eligible for this program.

Trash Collection Rules and Regulations

  • There is a limit of 4 cans/bags per household per pick-up (200 pounds maximum) with one (1) large piece of furniture per month.
  • Each can/bag is not to be heavier than 50 pounds.
  • Needles, syringes, lances and other sharp objects should be placed in a metal container with a secure lid so as not to be a hazard.
  • Please place your cans/bags at curbside on your property no earlier than 5:00PM the night before and your cans must be removed from curbside no later than 7:00PM the day of collection.
  • No construction debris or carpet unless arranged 24 hours in advance #610-828-1092.

Clean Outs and Constructions Debris

  • Please call us at 610-828-1092
  • 24 hours before desired pick-up
  • Residents who are doing a clean out, moving out, do-it-yourself construction or remodeling (this includes carpet) may arrange for this debris to be picked-up at an additional cost. Your debris will be pick-up and weighed with our on board scales and from that weight you will be billed. The billing will be based on a prorated $125.00 a ton or $.0625 cents a pound. All debris must be placed in cans, boxes, or bundles neatly at your curbside. The Borough cannot pick up dumpster bags.

Household Hazardous Waste

Conshohocken Borough does not handle household hazardous waste. Please go to the official Montgomery County, Pennsylvania site for information about recycling, composting, and household hazardous waste.

Yard Waste Collection Every Wednesday

Yard waste is recyclable, therefore the separation and collection of this material is mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Conshohocken Borough.

  • Grass clippings, weeds, leaves, brush and plants should be placed in biodegradable paper composting bags. Please no trash in these bags.
  • Each bag should not to be heavier then 50 pounds.
  • Tree branches under five-(5") in diameter, not exceeding five-(5') in length, are to be securely tied into bundles and should not to be heaver then 50 pounds.
  • Christmas trees. Please no decorations, tree stands or plastic tree bags.
  • Please place your bags and or bundles at curbside on your property no earlier than 5:00 PM the night before.
  • There is no limit of yard waste collected that is determined to be reasonable by the borough.

Recycle Collection Rules and Regulations

All residences must participate in the Borough's recycling programs by separating their recyclable material from their regular trash. The separation and collection of this material is mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Conshohocken Borough.

Recycling is Single Stream: No more sorting is needed. All of you recyclables may be mixed together in your recycling container!

  • Phone Books and Paperback Books

  • Tin & Steel Aerosol Cans (Empty)
  • Glass Jars & Bottles (Empty, please remove all lids)
  • All Plastic Containers Marked 1-7

Commercial Trash and Recycling

  • Businesses and other commercial institutions must arrange for their own collection of trash and recyclable materials by a reputable and licensed hauler.
  • Businesses and other commercial institutions must participate in a recycling program by separating their recyclable material from their regular trash. The separation and collection of this material as well as an annual report is mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Conshohocken Borough.
  • All businesses and other commercial institutions must recycle, but are not limited to: clear glass, colored glass, aluminum, steel, bimetal cans, plastics (1-6), high grade office paper, newsprint, corrugated paper and all yard waste.
  • Smaller Conshohocken Businesses may be able to participate in the Borough's Commercial Trash and Recycling program. Below are our procedures. Any questions or inquiries please call us at 610-828-1092
  • Your Trash will be picked up twice weekly, on the residential schedule, unless other arrangements are made with the Superintendent of Public Works
  • Your trash will be picked up by the Borough and weighed with our on board scales.
  • You will be billed at a prorated rate of $125.00 a ton. You will be billed quarterly. There is a $50.00 quarterly minimum.
  • All trash must be enclosed in waterproof containers no larger then (35) gallons. They may be larger if you use an approved "US" (universal systems) style container, call for information.
  • Trash must be placed at the curb in front of your premises no later then 8:30 AM on the day of collection but no earlier then 7:00 PM the day before your collection. You will be required to pay your bills in a timely manner as noted on your bills. If payment is at anytime 30 days late trash and recycle will be stopped and not resumed until your bill is paid in full. Should this persist you will need to find a new hauler. With proof of borough pick-up you will not be required to pay your annual Waste System Authority of Eastern Montgomery County waste generation fee. Ordinance available upon request.

Please place your recycling container curbside on your property no earlier than 5:00 PM the night before and remove your container from curbside no later than 7:00 PM the day of collection. When your trash and recycle collection day falls on a holiday, your trash and recyclables will be collected on your next scheduled collection day. Unless the holiday is on a Monday then your RECYCLYABLES ONLY will be picked-up on Tuesday. When a holiday falls on a Saturday or a Sunday it is observed on the following Monday.

Bulk Recycle Goods

  • All residences must participate in the Borough's recycling programs by separating their recyclable material from their regular trash. These bulk goods are recyclable, therefore the separation and collection of this material is mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Conshohocken Borough.
  • All items such as stoves, washers, dryers, hot water heaters, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, water coolers, metal cabinets, metal furniture, chain link fence, wrought iron fence, etc. will be picked up free of charge.
  • Appliances like refrigerators must have any doors removed prior to putting them out for collection or at the drop off.
