The Zoning Hearing Board conducts public hearings at the request of developers and residents seeking zoning relief to an existing provision of the zoning ordinance via variance and special exception. The board meets when an application and/or zoning petition has been submitted. Meetings are advertised in advance in local newspapers, and are posted on the Borough’s website. The Borough also mails notices to property owners within 500 feet of the subject property.
The Zoning Hearing Board interprets the Borough’s zoning ordinance and makes decisions whether applications should be approved or denied. Records of the proceedings are maintained. An appeal of their findings may be taken to the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County.
